I just heard about this. Many of you RPGers no doubt have heard that Disney and Square have jumped into a bed actually big enough to fit the two and have produced a little game called Kingdom Hearts. Effectively a bastardization of many of our long loved Disney characters and past SquareSoft characters mish mashed and churned up and spit out into a circle of a disc for play right in your PS2 Home Computer System. But this is a good thing. Ive been waiting on the tipest of my toes for this game to come to the states. I had the luck to check it out importo ala Japanese and something about Donald Duck speaking japanese sounding like a... fuck, i dunno what he sounds like, it really has to be heard to be understood. Goofy, to a lesser degree, is also a grin fest. Anyways, to get to the part i didnt know until recent: Disney's Ebay store was selling the game ENGLISH style for release BEFORE the actual official North American release. Wowie. I think the release date as it stands for us normal, everyday, nobody, poor folk is November something or other. The auction has ended but i think this one set of 25 is one of like 5 or something. On a similar and equally unbuyable note: There was also a KH Art Print Signed by Tetsuya Nomura.

Nintendo's e-Reader cards are looking pretty promising. Being able to play old games like NES Ballon Fight, ExciteBike, "Pinball" and "Tennis" are all something ILL be looking forward to. Oh, and i hear there is something about hooking it up to something called pokémon or some crap. Whatever.

 

Capcom seems they are jumping the Sega ship to develop their next Versus game [XmenVsStreetFighter, CapcomVsSnk, etc.,] on Sony's harder to develop for 246 board. For you not in the knowwhatfor, thats the arcade equivalent of a PS2. Well, looks like i WILL have to be buying an arcade stick for the damn system. Soul Calibur 2 (which is quite good) is also running on the same board. Now where is this damn Triforce thing at?!

 

Well, i WAS gonna write about the import of Mario Sunshine but the damn game up and came out on wednesday, as scheduled. Bastard. Im sure Shin will cover it. That is if he ever comes out of that coma hes been sitting in all this time of his absence.

School, work, work, school. Why is it that im writing here now when things are so low? So its like this, after smooshing my mobile, signing up AND writing checks for classes (though i have no money in my account) and just about ready to get fired from my job for something i didnt do and not working on a scene that has to be written, directed and performed by tomorrow, i am here. Here and lost like a wee widdo lamb. What is a ninja to do. Well, i was thinkin few days ago...nothing seemed to make any sense. I really didnt see a reason for me to be running around and still be ninja-ing. It wasnt that i was depressed, far from it. It was that i had seen things more clearly in the subject of not seeing ANYTHING clearly. It was like i was stuck on a dessert and all around me was hot hot sand and the sun above my shoulders. I was crawling around trying to figure out which direction i needed to go so i can get to whereever i need to be. But something occuried to me on that dessert of unending burn, I wasnt getting anywhere because no matter where i turn itd just be more sand. The globe was only that, sand... and i was crawling around on it. Sure, there were animals and other plants and whatnot going about with their lives, but i had no business being there, i thought. How did these other creatures manage? They seemed quite content with being there. But for what? Thats not me, im a person. A person with not a popcicle or glass of water in sight, that is. Thats where i was. Now, after talking to a few people about what made them happy and how they go from day to day, ive found that maybe, just maybe, im not so much that person crawling around dying of thirst, wishing i was somewhere else. No, not a person, but more another one of those bugs or rats or cyoteses or cactus or maybe some other new animal or plant that has yet to be named or found. Maybe im not that person but something else and i should realise that. Maybe not a person, maybe something better, or worse, but definetly different. So here i am now. Not spooot'd off the side of a bridge or anything. W00t.

 

Kirby? Why all of a sudden kirby NOW? This HAS to be MY all time nintendo mascot. Yes, Zelda and Mario doesnt suck as much as this pink character of a character, and thats a good thing. My god, was that dumb? wait, let me take it again. Marker.

 

There something that ive always enjoyed about watching japanese giant-monster flics. Even though the budget was and forever will be lower than that of even the line to go see The Country Bears. Third best gorssing what?! SUNOVABITCH! Well, finally a game that has gameplay that DOESNT match the budget of the movies it seeks to emulate. I really hope this fella turns for the better.

Cant get enough of these interlocking pieces of plastic love-joy. Yesterday i picked up this TANK at the local KB's at the price point of 9.99. It was a must by, basically. They also had like a plane and some other shit, but SERIOUSLY folks, how am i to take over the fucking world with a fucking bi-plane. Seriously. Fuck. And its no normal run of the mill bang bang shoot em in the popper poop tank, noooo... Its a godamn COMBAT tank, too! WOWIE! It was ten bucks kids, come on. Anyways, so i got home and set to work. The first thing i noticed from the get go is the amount of pressure needed to be applied to THESE blocks as opposed to the usual legos was about tenfold. The box said the set was made for ages 3-12 ("micro"). Now, find me ANY micro-handed, he-man/gorilla hand equipped mutha fucka and ill show YOU one surprised ninja. Well, after the grueling hour or whatever it took me to hammer all the miniscule pieces together, i had before me one mighty fine tank. No, muther fuckin COMBAT tank! I was so proud of my creation that a took pics of it here and here.... then smashed it up and made something else with it here and here. All in all, i think my day went by pretty eventful. Kill me. Kill me now.

Now that im totally tired of The Mark of Kri i think its time to say something about it. Wow, i was really impressed. At the very least aside, from the gameplay (which was VERY solid for a US made game), the over all impression and the obvious amounts of money they poured in this title are evident in everything from the little birds fluttering around, to the in game music, to the little graphical touches. It was all a very nice looking and sounding game. And THEN there was the fun gameplay. The only other previous game SCEA has made for the PS2 has been the WONDERFUL[y stupid] kinetica so it was to this ninja's surprise that it was as well thought and put together as it was. First off the targeting system is very fun to use. You use the right analog [or "analogue" to you brits in the audience] to target a number of enemies (from 1 to 6 depending on the weap used, 3 groups of 2) and are assigned to different buttons on the controller face, either X, O or square. So if you charge into battle you can choose to hit the guy in front of you and then swipe behind you to nail that bastard trying to stab you in the back only to swing and slice in half the fellow sitting pickin his arse next to him. And the cool thing is if you only have two buttons or less assigned the other non selected buttons become combo modifiers used to mix up movies, combos and even fatalities. Yes, fatalities. Toasty! These are not your father's usual slice off the head mortal kombat rubbish you are used to. I mean, there IS that too, but some of them get pretty crazy. Like there's this one where your character swings and hits one guy in the gut and jumps over him whilst he throws his axe under him spinning, he catches it and swings it backwards to knock the head clear off the pour guy at the other end of the blade. Call his wife and kids, i dont think hes coming home tonight. SCEA also tried to put a little metal gear/tenchu stealth schtuff which works MOST of the time but can break up the play, though, is also a welcome change from time to time. Packed in is a bunch of other goodies like a challenging and equally frustrating Arena mode which allows you to wreak death fromth your entire arsenal to curve the appetite of random destruction in all of us [or "trying not to kill real people" for people like me. Or the brits in the audience]. The loading screen to in-game effect HAS to be seen.

Stupidity can be funny

As i write this i can almost feel the buckle of my computer as it aches it's way loose this mortal coil. Not yet, tho... ive started up Diablo ii again...

My god, where to start... so much to catch up on. Mark of Kri almost beaten, watched Rein of Fire, finished GunGrave(sorta), played the Mario Sunshine and StarFox, need to rant and rave about the Soul Calibur2. A bunch of things im sure to get to by the end of the week or so. Also, Shin and i found something special for the enjoyment of all. That is if an open mind and sense of humor is something obtained by you. Sure to be up soon ^_^||

 

Finally say Super Troopers all the way through. The new (?) dvd is chock full of chock. What ever the hell that means. The movie itself is quite funny and worth checking out. Own it even. The pace is kinda quick but in a comedy like this its set nicely. Now ive never actually SEEN anything else this Broken Lizard has done but they appear to be a couple of damn funny individuals. The taste in comedy is whimsical in a Kevin Smith kinda way ala MallRats. The millions of deleted and extended and extra ending-ed stuff didnt really seem all THAT interesting, tho, it was late and me and buds didnt have the commentary on for them. Eh. For the movie only, worth the price of admission, sirs.

Since have very little to say right now despite all the stuff going on im going to post what i had sent Shin's mother via email [insert shin's mom joke here]. You can thank lazyness and the fact the simpsons are on in ten. The email was made to try and convince his mother that his room isnt as horrid has she always makes it out to be, that in fact mine is about ten to twelve times worse. Literally, if not more. I always liked when people put something of their own on their sites. Things like who they are and where they live and that type of dopey shit. So i guess, id be two things done at once, eh? So what DOES my house look like?

[Ninja] here ^_^|| Ive been cleaning my room and sorting things out amongst the poop i want to toss and the poop i SHOULD prolly toss. Its been a fairly good cleansing process both for the room and for myself. Anyways, you are always raggin on The [Shin] about the contents of his room not being as orderly as one, such as yourself, would like it to be of. And, as usual, we scoff at your feeble lamentation. Well, given the context [coming up] im sure you will see the reason of our jesting. [here is where i instruct him to scroll down and a'ways as to keep the next pic a surprise] This is the place i spend most of my time sitting and thinking of ways to overthrow the governme- oh look at the time. Forget not, this is but ONE corner of my room. Notice: the wires for "effect". I use the word effect for what most call "utter saddening piteousness". Moving along...   If you look to your left you will see what i like to call "Le Montagé" thats french for...something im sure. Note: the mixing of magnetic appliances with other polar sensitive pieces sure to explode in the near future.   I look at this and laugh. Not because the cow is stickin its tounge out at you. No doubt hilarity already, no. Im laughing at the fact this pic prolly contains more objects than the entirity of your fiddle-faddle riddiled house. Ask The [shin] whats inside those drawers. The middle one weighs about 60 lbs. It was fun to move. Pure fun. - Well, this concludes the tour of my room. I would have gotten all of it but the lens on my camera cracked under the strain of having to take so much in at once. God rest its soul.
