What the hell is THIS?!
SNK is back? Anyone know what this means?! If its a fake then its fairly
authentic what with its engrish and all. Oct 25.
-
Well, because of this,
i went out and bought myself a Plantium
Gamecube a few days ago. Well, that and Super Monkey Ball 2. Plus i
can get a few (million) more miles outta the eCard Reader which i so feverishly
purchased not a few weeks ago. Despite my loquacious nature towards the
subject ive not put too many hours into enough excitebike to really get
my fill of it's 40 bucks.
-
About 6 months ago there was many many
games to play and checkout and experience but there was always one that
i kept coming back to every night. This game isnt anything really special
really. Its simple. Based on simple RPG elements that were centered around
a comunity not even PC MMPORPGs could touch. This game was Sonic
Team's Phantasy
Star Online. I had about <shudder> 5 active characters and the
3 main ones i used all had about 700+ hours put into EACH of them. After
awhile i wouldnt even go in for the game, id just go to meet up with some
online-made pals to chat it up about what made us happy, mad, pissed, laugh
all that buddy shit that makes friends. Ive never gotten that much outta
my 50bucks (domestically, 4 bucks a month) EVER. It was a sweet deal. That
was about 6 months ago i stopped. Now PSO is back on the GC and XBox. I
really want to get back into the game but i have so many little things
i should instead do than play this game. Things which will help me insure
my future as something more than a bum this game will make me. So i made
the right choice. I have pre-orders on both games. Now, the thing is despite
all the time i will devote towards my PSOing ill only really have time
to play one at a time, or one at all. The trouble is that they both have
things that make each a better buy. The Cube version has a GBA link up
mode that uploads
games and other fun stuff that are only gonna be found by linking the GBA
to the GC PSO. NiGHTs
is looking really cool. On hand number B, the Xbox version is gonna have
a new EXCLUSIVE character and other goodies. Decisions... Tell you what,
i A. hit myself over the head with a heavy mallet or B. Go with A. You
choose for me.

Goes great with your iPod.
Wait, you mean this isnt an iPod?!
-
oops, i never put down the list of all
the people whom are working on that Animatrix
thingy, a bunch of animé based off stories from the Matrix
by creators, the Wachowski Brothers. Its got so many great names there.
Cowboy Bebop director, Shinichiro Watanabe and WickedCity/NinjaScroll/X
director, Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Square Pictures actually made one too.
-
UT mod The
Third Reich has a new trailer.
Schon.
Shinji Makami who?
There's a first DMC?
-
XBox Live will have a USB connector
adaptor?
-
Amen.
Praise the

so i cant sleep. Ive always been meaning to do a metal gear solid desktop.
It was just a quicky, only a few hours of make time. I really like its
use of line and balance. It also has random drivel in the background text.
Man, i really churned this one out quick. Maybe i should get lack of sleep
more often! There, a dark and a light theme all in one night. |

I havent really imported a game in awhile.
At least not one that ive had a substantial amount of enjoyment from. As
far was shipping games from overseas i tend to stick with the fighters
and shooters. But every so often the moons are aligned and i fancy myself
something else. Well, i dont know if any moons had anything to do with
it, but i had some heiny in my tummy and eBay
on my screen. Ive been meaning to checkout the SuperRobotWars
game since the second one on PSX came out (there are like a fucking million of
these in Nippon. Japan.). Thing is, when you are on eBay and a game comes
up for only 10 bucks you dont think about it, you DO it. Do it, meaning
get with the clicking and bidding. And click and bid, i did. Its been a
couple of days and its in my DC right now. On a measure of 1-10 its about
a 7 to 8 making it a medium to high rating on the what-the-fuck-is-happening
scale. A downside to importing games not in your native speak. Or an upside,
as shin and i think. For those who dont know, Super Robot Wars is an amalgam
of many many different Mech/bot series all meshed and smoshed into one
tacRPG. A simple and fun one at that. Oh, and all the characters are super
deformed [the art of making characters more cute and chubby than they would
normally be]. The one thing about this version among the other [million]
are its inclusion of eva01 from the Evangelion series. I think its also
only 1 or 2 that are polygonal, too. A house fav over here. Right now in
the game im shooting these guys who look like gundam d00ds with MY gundam
d00ds and my guns make the bad mens fall down. Yep. Im a little lost as
to where im to go. Actually, im past the part with the shooting. Im more
in the... talking...part. At the beginning of the game i was given the
chance to name my pilot. I thought Lt "Bitch = Face" was appropriate.
My character looks like the other side of happy all the time. In case you
are thinking about getting this game ive been at a loss trying to find
translations. GameFaqs has been nothing if not unhelpful.
Eh, im having a blast not knowing what anything means or does anyways.
Now how the hell do you save...
-
Timesplitters2 for the Xbox. Such a
great game to be slowed down by sloppy System link play. If you dont ever
plan on playing this game via system link its an excellent title. Ok, ok,
im being a bit of an ass here. The system link isnt THAT bad. Its quite
buggy, doesnt log your score, and is limited as far as setting up the games
go, but its still 16 player fun. Hell, if Sega put together a 16 player
game that you simply flung poo at each other id have fun with it. Heeeeeey...
No, wait, im thinking of almost everything 3DO vomits up these days. No,
wait, and thats not THROWING poo as so much eating and swimming in it.
Anyways, if a system link game isnt already in progress you have to keep
exiting and reentering till on is setup. I think its the tedious little
touches that really get to me. Its almost like they made that feature at
the last minute. I mean, the normal game logs all your kills and points
in a team game but the system link games do not. Only your team points.
Little things. Overall, though, the rest of the game is outstanding. THe
Arcade modes and the Challenge modes are tons of fun and even have little
stories to EACH one. The bot handling and AI is excellent. The story mode,
though totally nonsequential (or sensical), is fun. The map making feature
is lots of fun, leting you add your own story elements and even lighting
effects to your arenas. I kinda wished Free Radical would have taken the
Xbox HD into account. Maps cannot exceed 4 blocks (about 900k) which leads
to smaller maps with less intricacy. Still, its better there than not.
Ive found that the PS2 version and the GameCube version are equally as
fun. The PS2 allowing system link also.

- Christmas is a corner away and my pocket book has been

ass. Id agree. About this time of year its really hard to balance games,
music, acting, classes and more games. When it comes to balancing my time
im more of a romantic. Juggling with no hands. Sans telekenisis. So im

I had mentioned somewhere before that
Sega and Microsoft had decided to throw together a sweet package of XBox-ige,
The XBox Holiday
Package. And when i say 'sweet' i only wish i could think of a sweetER
adjective to thusly extort my feelings on the deal. So, ill do so with
so many words. Ok, what happens here is you stickout about two bones [read:
two bills [read:read: 200 big ones]], before tax, and you get the Xbox,
an S controller, JetSet
Future AND the fairly fresh off the press SegaGT.
In other words you get TWO free games and the S controller (which i enjoy
using more). Not bad. Even better considering if you purchase the DVD playback
kit, Microsoft will, in all their abnormal nicety, GIVE you 30 bucks back!
Quite a deal, folks! If you dont have an Xbox this is about the time to
do the right thing and buy one before Tekki and Panzar
come out. If you are somebody like moi whom already has the Xbox and the
two games, you can kick the crap outta someone smaller than you to help
make you feel better. Find someone who had just purchased the bundle for
added effect ^_-||

Some older GBA tidbitties:
± MegaMan Zero is out. WAS out. I think i enjoyed it more than all
the other of the X series COMBINED. At the very least, the PSX ones anyway.
- ± Castlevannia, a little shorted than the first
on GBA, it seems. Still a good play. Obviously influenced by its predecessor,
Symphony of the Night. DracX.
- ± SuperPuzzleFighterTurbo/X
is coming to GBA!
-
Knockaround
Guys. Not bad. Not as good as i had hoped. Brian Koppelman
and David Levien filled
out a cast of tough talent with characterization that left me wanting to
know more about these sons of mafioso giants. Seth Green, Vin Diesel, Barry
Pepper, Dennis Hopper and John Malkovich. I had to go see this movie. Though
entertaining, it seems like the plot was rushed towards the end where the
pacing was very decent. I think i got my money's worth, but i dont think
im gonna buy the DVD.

Speaking about seeing movies based on
who's in the cast... Catch
Me If You Can is looking pretty decent

- A few years ago when Lucky's (a small Local BayAreaCali
chain) was bought out by Albertsons/Savon
they had this thing where they were supposed to tell people seeking grocer
needs about how their place was better than the competition or better than
what Lucky's used to be cause they didnt NEED to implement a savings card
feature to be a better place to save us money. There was this one particular
poor excuse for living tissue who talked on about how becoming Albertson's
was a better way for us, Mr/Ms Shopper, to shop and save.. as the workers
grumbled in the background about how their cut in benefits and working
style was compromised with the accusition. I dont know how eliminating
their previous 24 hour open time and upsetting all of the nice people who
work there was supposed to up on the shopping convenience. But, hey, they're
the ones running their biz. Well, it looks like Savon has changed their
attitudes. "Remember what we said about being better because we dont
need to have a card? Well, forget everything we said that day. Ya'see,
we were...drunk that day." is, i guess, what they want us to think
now cause now they are implementing a savings card. At least its free.
I dunno, ive been Albertson's hatin since they came to town. Now that im
done deflating my argument (what little was there) how have you been?

This is a bit old now but: Capcom's
Shinji Mikami went on and on hitting criticisms towards Sony, Square and
general customers in a recent radio program in Japan. He mentioned that
Sony makes their consoles easy to break to increase their installer base.
He said they were selling so well cause people kept breaking their systems
and were having to buy another to play their games. He said how he bought
multiple of the same Sony Playstations to play single games. He said the
same goes for all their products: PCs, walkmen, discmen, cellphones, etc.
Its known that people in Japan toss out older stuff when the newer come
out. Mikami said that sony makes things to only last two or so years and
its "a way of cheating and committing a crime". He went on to
say that Kingdom Hearts has sold so well is because when one person buys
it all his friends do too, something he calls an "aura purchase"
despite if the person likes that game or not. This was, as he cited, the
main reason for Square's game selling better than Biohazard for the gamecube.
He did say "Square please forgive me" he thought Biohazard was
a much better game, though Kingdom Hearts was also a good game. He then
proceeded to jump, bite and claw at the radio dj cause he was "looking
at him funny". Apparently making good games is a bit... stressful.

Holy shit, what the fuck is this?! If you havent got this new and
exciting SPORT at your school then chances are you have fancy things basketballs
and tracks for running and other such absorptivly rich things like PLAYGROUNDS.
If you DO have a CupStacking team at your school you prolly dont have TVs
or a lot of time. Or both. Honestly, it really does look like its something
of a sport (rules and everythang, pa!) which can be fun but something about
it tells me to steer clear before i steer queer (HA HA, i make funny!).
Still, the movies on
this site are staggering "shown at actual speed". I only wish
we had these kids working on things like curing cancer or something. Something
like GOING OUTSIDE AND PLAYING like normal kids. Eh, to each his own.
